The
Drogheda School of Performing Arts runs courses in dance, drama
and music, in various combinations, for students from three years
of age to eighteen years. Some of our courses include all three
disciplines. For instance, on either Wednesdays or Fridays students
aged six to twelve years come to The Little Duke Theatre in Drogheda
for a two and a half hour session. During this time they spend
forty-five minutes working with a drama teacher, forty-five minutes
with a dance instructor and forty-five minutes with a singing
coach. Students have a fifteen minute supervised break during
this session which is important not only as a rest but as an
opportunity to meet and get to know the other students. |
On Thursdays and
Saturdays students aged six to twelve come to The Little Duke
Theatre for a two hour session where they have almost one hour
of dance and one hour of drama. Students take a ten-minute break
during this session.
On Saturdays we also hold one hour long singing classes for students
aged six to twelve years and for teenagers.
Saturday afternoons are reserved for our Teenage classes. We have
two classes for teenagers, for ages thirteen to fifteen and fifteen
to eighteen. These classes are two hours long and students spend
almost one hour in dance and one in drama.
We also have a new class starting in Sept 06. Music/drama on Tuesdays
for age six to twelve, and on Monday afternoons we offer private
tuition in piano, clarinet, recorders, violin, guitar and percussion.
